About Me

Central Park 1985

My love of New York goes back to the mid 1980s when my husband and I moved to the city for his fellowship at Mt Sinai. Before that, I had been to NY only twice so I was excited for the adventure that lay ahead. We took full advantage that year of all the city had to offer, within our budget of course. New York was much different in the mid 1980s from the city it is today. Some of the changes that have come about have been for the better and some not so much. Back then the city had just begun to come out of the difficult decade of the 1970s. Central Park was not as safe (nothing in the city was as safe) and our Upper East Side neighborhood was populated with small mom-and-pop shops, delis, and Korean groceries. There were no Baby Gaps and William Sonomas like there are today. Since then, we regularly travel to New York and each trip introduces me to something new.  I am no expert on the city but I am happy to share what I've learned and what I enjoy doing and seeing when I'm there. Email me and I'll try to answer any questions. Here's to exploring the greatest city in the world!
